Final 2011 Legislative Session Wrap-up

After five months of debate, numerous committee meetings and late hour floor sessions, the 2011 Legislative Session drew to a close on Monday, May 23, without GOP leaders and Governor Mark Dayton agreeing on elements to balance the budget. The only bill that the legislature could agree on, in a bipartisan manner, was a $79 million omnibus agriculture bill that funds the Minnesota Department of Agriculture. The entire state budget proposed for the 2012-13 biennium is approximately $34 billion. Read more
