Course Description:
Understanding and addressing sensory processing disorder in the school environment can be an effective way to improve a child’s school success. This course will focus on creating and implementing individualized student plans, focusing on efficient scheduling of sensory breaks, environment considerations, and strategies to use in and out of the classroom. A roundtable discussion will include ways to track your student’s progress and approaches to educating the special education team on OT and sensory processing. Speaker Bio:
Learning Objectives: 1. To identify when and how to use sensory based strategies in the school environment.2. Demonstrate how to effectively track a student’s progress. 3. Develop resources to create fun and interactive staff trainings.
