e Description:
General
introduction to the NW district with updates as appropriate. Followed by a
continuing education course consisting of a review of hand anatomy and how
injury or pathology affects functional abilities. Common hand injuries and
pathology will be described along with treatment techniques used to return
patients to maximum function.
Speaker Bio:
Joni A
rmstrong is a registered occupational therapist and a certified hand therap
ist who has been treating hand and pediatric patients for over 30 years, re
ceiving her hand therapy certification in 1991. Joni has taught many profes
sional courses including topics, such as: Tendon Rehabilitation, Musician&r
squo;s Hand Injuries, Arthritis, and many courses on Hand Rehabilitation, S
plinting, and Pediatric Hand Splinting and Therapy. She has published profe
ssionally with a book chapter on pediatric hand splinting. She continues to
teach hand rehabilitation and splinting at the University of North Dakota
School of Medicine and Health Sciences. Joni currently sees hand and pedia
tric patients at Sanford Health in Bemidji.

and, and treat common injuries and pathologies of the hand with use of mod

techniques to enhance patient function at all ages.
