Event Description:
This virtual training is meant for occupational therapists who are familiar with the administration of Bayley Scales of Infant and Toddler Development and will focus on specific updates of the Fourth Edition. The presentation will consist of a minimum of 2.5 hours and include a lecture supported by slides, video demonstration, and discussion around proper administration and scoring of specific items. Attendees will learn how to administer new test items in the Cognitive, Language, and Motor Scales in a valid and scorable manner, as well as derive and interpret scores in the five scale areas. Additional focus will be placed on the more difficult item types, new scoring rules, and new test content.

Speaker Bio and Credentials:
Dr. Paul Williams received his doctorate in clinical psychology in 1998 from George Fox University. This included a one-year internship, followed by a one-year post-doctoral residency in the medical psychology department of Kaiser Permanente in Salem, Oregon. His responsibilities included mental health and neuropsychological assessment, psychotherapy, and consultation with medical staff. It was this consultation role where he realized the immense importance of the integration of medical and mental health care. Following several years of psychological consultation in a variety of mental health and medical settings, Paul has spent the past 18 years devoting efforts to research, test development, and professional support of various mental health assessments in his role as Senior Research Director, and current role as Healthcare Assessment Consultant at Pearson Clinical Assessment.

Learning Objectives:
1. At the conclusion of this activity, participants will be able to describe the relevant changes made to the Bayley-4.
2. Participants will be able to administer the new items of the Cognitive, Language, and Motor scales in a valid and scorable manner.
3. Attendees will be able to derive and interpret scores from the five scales according to the regulatory guidelines of their region.
4. Participants will be able to summarize the new digital feature available to facilitate item administration, scoring, and reporting.
