This presentation and discussion will include what is currently being formulated as best practice in a novel, pandemic setting.

Speaker Biography:
Wayne Zerr, MS, OT, is an Occupational Therapist who has spent the last 14 years working in acute care at the University of Minnesota - Fairview. This April, Wayne was deployed to Bethesda Hospital in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. Bethesda hospital has served as a COVID-only hospital with an ICU as well as medical care. Wayne has also worked in hand therapy and in the burn unit.

Learning Objectives:
Participants will:
●    gather information/recommendations from AOTA in addressing COVID 19
●    advocate for OT interventions with clients with COVID 19
●    understand MHealth's approach with clients admitted to the hospital COVID-19. (Brochure or website statements from MHealth, if available).
●    recognize precautions in working with clients with COVID 19
●    compare and contrast team members and their professional roles in caring for clients with COVID 19.
●    compare and contrast collaborative assessments, treatments, and discharge recommendations from members of the team
●    Integrate information using case studies of clients of different ages, the severity of symptoms, etc. (maybe 3 or so)
●    respond to questions from the speaker, such as their experiences with COVID (self, friends, families), and discuss ideas moving forward.
