Event Description
This leadership webinar aims to provide foundational skills for building on emotional intelligence, confidence, and communication — especially as it relates to entering fieldwork and the healthcare field. Content will include information about how to be successful in fieldwork and entry level practice and will prepare students and therapists to grow as leaders in the OT profession. It will allow space to reflect on your current skills and areas of growth.

Speaker Biographies
Katie Arnold, MS, OTR/L, CLT – Katie has 12 years of OT clinical experience and 5+ years of teaching experience in both adjunct and faculty positions at St. Catherine University. Katie has a passion for educating and mentoring students and therapists in building confidence and leadership skills. She draws from her experiences in leadership roles held both clinically and academically.

Alyssa Farrell, MS OTR/L is an assistant professor at St. Catherine University in the Occupational Therapy Assistant program and currently serves as the Academic Fieldwork Coordinator. Alyssa has 12 years of clinical experience working in a variety of clinical settings including acute rehab, outpatient pediatrics, subacute rehab as well as a specialization in rehabilitation in acute care ICUs. She has 6+ years of teaching experience as an adjunct and faculty at St. Catherine University. Alyssa’s scholarship interests include emotional intelligence and its relationship to successful fieldwork completion as well as the use of simulation in OT Education.

Katelyn Brady, OTD, OTR/L. Katelyn is an assistant professor at St. Catherine University in the Occupational Therapy and Occupational Therapy Assistant Program. Katelyn has worked in a variety of clinical settings including, acute rehab, outpatient and acute care.

Learning Objectives
Participants will:
    •    Explore styles and types of leadership
    •    Identify strategies and goals for becoming the confident leader you want to be!
    •    Understand Emotional Intelligence and why it is Important in leadership and professional work settings
    •    Define traits within occupational therapy practice that supports leadership (in a professional work setting)
