Course Description: A comprehensive overview of peer reviewed literature, assessments, treatments, and common threads of Persistent Pain in Physical Disabilities​ and Mental Health.

Objectives:

1) Identify three of the costliest common pain conditions
2) Describe and define the types of pain
3) Define 1 to 2 co-occuring socio-psychological conditions found in clients with persistent pain or associated risk factors
4) Identify 1-2 clinical or diagnostic assessments for risk of disability in hand arm patients
5) Identify physical conditions correlated with pain anxiety
6) Describe the relationship between pain and perception
7) Identify the importance of patient education in pain prevention and remediation
