Speakers: Presenters are current students in the first year of the MAOT curriculum at St. Catherine University. Their EBP course has been guided by Dr. Julie Bass this semester.

Course Description:This session will review the evidence-based occupational therapy and interprofessional literature on functional cognition for individuals with mild cognitive impairment. Presenters will provide recommendations for practice based on their review of the evidence and literature related to risk factors, individuals’ perspectives and experiences, assessments and interventions.

Learning Objectives:

  1. Describe the Evidence-Based Practice process
  2. Summarize current research and levels of evidence for functional cognition for individuals with mild cognitive impairment related to risk factors, perspectives and experiences, assessments and interventions.
  3. Identify evidence-based recommendations to guide practice related to mild cognitive impairment and functional cognition.
  4. Discuss professional and governmental resources related to functional cognition and mild cognitive impairment.
