5:30 - 6:00 Registration and Northwest District meeting 6:00- 8:30 CE "Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome, Hypermobility and Chronic Pain" *Course will include a 15 minute break.
Course Description: Updates for the NW District. Followed by a continuing education course consisting of information regarding Ehlers Danlos (EDS), hypermobility and chronic pain. This course will include information on symptoms, diagnostic changes, current research and therapeutic outcomes for clinicians working with patients with EDS. Learning Objectives: 1) Identify the types of Ehlers-Danlos syndrome (EDS) in order to be able to address the unique concerns of the patient and understand new diagnostic criteria changes. 2) Cite three or more symptoms of EDS especially in relation to OT intervention. 3) Describe three or more potential interventions Occupational Therapists can to use with patients with EDS based on symptoms and patient goals. 4) Cite two strategies to specifically address chronic pain with this population. 5) Identify two or more resources available on EDS.
