2023 MOTA Annual Conference was a Huge Success!!

Thank you all who came from near and far to make the return of the annual MOTA conference possible! We truly were "Back Together and Stronger Than Ever"!   We had 150 people registered who participated in high quality education sessions, visited our 17 vendors and occupation stations, as well as 8 "Makers Market" artisans.  The "unconference" Friday night was also a great success with food and prizes enjoyed by all. Our keynote speaker John Salgado Maldonado  of Purpose Artisans led us through an insightful and interactive discussion around identity, and also facilitated two community drum circles throughout the conference. The gathering concluded with an awards ceremony where we recognized our colleagues for their phenomenal work. Click here to see award winners!

Thank you again to all who made this conference possible, and if you weren't able to join us we hope to see you in an upcoming online CE (they resume in November)  or at next year's conference!

In gratitude,

Terrianne Jones,

MOTA President

 Medicare OTA Payment Differential

The Medicare OTA payment differential went into effect on January 1, 2022 and many occupational therapy practitioners still have questions regarding what the policy means for OTAs.

AOTA has resources that are immediately available. Please feel free to view this recording of the Special OTA Confab: Legislative and Regulatory Changes . The recording provides both the legislative background of the policy and a detailed discussion of when the modifier should be applied. An article and video can also be found on the AOTA website on how to apply the modifier and an easy to read handout is attached for distribution.
